Back to the flock!

We took a few months off of flocking for obvious weather related reasons and now we are back to it!!  We have orders coming in from the article in the news magazine that was printed in the fall, plus orders that were pending from when the weather turned cold.  The big disappointment is that the gas prices are ridiculously high which makes each trip significantly more expensive for us to make.  So, we needed to make a choice on what we wanted to do.  Because we love flocking and it really is a fun way to raise money (and quite successful as well!) we've decided to continue flocking, but limit our flocking area to the Wentzville, Lake Saint Louis and O'Fallon, MO areas.  We will see if we will continue to receive orders.  It seemed that the majority of our orders last fall came from Ballwin and St Peters.  We have already received orders from other areas and we are working on those now, but going forward we are going to try to keep it pretty local.

I was excited to see that Target has flamingos in their dollar section!  I bought a bunch from my local store and they were $2.50 each.  The legs are quite a bit shorter and they required some hot glue gunning to keep them in, but they work pretty darn well!  I'm hoping to snag a bunch more.  After losing quite a few to breakage we took inventory last night and we have 70 working birds and about a dozen that were sent to the recycle bin last night.  I think we've lost about 15+ to stealing and about another dozen to breakage when we were flocking last fall.  So, if I could replenish with some Target birds that would be good!!  I'm hoping that the other stores have more for me.

The flock last night was awesome!  The house was beautiful, the grass was green and luscious and I loved the neighborhood.  Loved loved loved flocking last night!
